Housekeeping: Today I’ll be publishing two posts — this one and the final Bestsellers at Horror Mall post later this afternoon.
Let’s continue our look at the Horror Mall bestsellers, here are the bestselling horror books in June 2010.
I’ve received a couple of questions as to why t-shirts are showing up on the bestselling book list. That’s a good question.
First, realize these bestselling lists come from the Horror Mall’s website.
Horror Mall is an online mall — a collection of independent stores that share a space — in this case a website and shopping cart — thus creating a one-stop shopping area for you, the horror reader.
5 of the stores sell horror books — including Delirium Books, Bloodletting Books, Bad Moon Books, etc. One store sells just ebooks — Darkside Digital. And one of the new stores — The Bag and the Crow — sells clothing (not just t-shirts) with images from horror fiction, movies and whatever else they think of.
If The Bag and the Crow really take off, perhaps they’ll get their own bestselling list. I have no special insight nor have I talked to Mr. Staley about it.
Until that happens, however, a t-shirt or hoodie that sells enough items to make it one of the month’s top ten sellers, will appear on the list of bestselling books and pre-ordered books.
Does this bother you? Tell me about it. Leave a comment below.

The Third HouseAuthor: Deane, Andy |
|
|
They had driven similar roads on similar nights hundreds of times before. They’d grown accustomed to empty stretches of pavement that led to grimy nightclubs and seedy bars. But on this night, one wrong turn will lead a group of band-mates on tour down a gravel highway to a place where nightmares live, breathe . . . and walk. Soon the five friends will encounter a family of creatures that are both monstrous and somewhat human at once, and this tour may very well be their last. The Undead Rat’s Note: |

CreeptychAuthor: Everson, John |
|
|
Does your skin crawl when you see a spider on the wall or a roach on the kitchen floor? Do you find yourself itching uncontrollably after being touched by a fly or mosquito? Do you ever lie awake half the night because you felt something delicately, carefully crawling across your feet beneath the sheets? Then this Creeptych of three bug-ridden stories is for you! Bad Day: Paul Hughes had a really bad day. He lost his job, his wife and then after getting bit by a bug . . . his life. Compared to what happens to his neighbors after the Luna Roaches come to town, his day wasn’t so bad at all. At least he died. . . . Eardrum Buzz: Wes couldn’t get enough of the music of Eardrum Buzz’s first disc, Misery Machine; the drone of their guitars was hypnotizing. But when he is brought into the band’s inner circle to join The Swarm, he soon has the music within him. Terrifyingly deep within him. . . . Violet Lagoon: When a quartet of co-eds decide to reenact The Blue Lagoon on an abandoned Florida Key, they find more than just sex and sand is on the agenda. Stings turn out to play a part in their weekend as well. Lots and lots of stings. But those were just the beginning of the pain. . . . Table of Contents:
