Bestselling Pre-ordered Horror Books for April 2010

by The Undead Rat on May 12, 2010

This entry is part 5 in the series Bestselling Pre-ordered Horror Books: 2010

Today we finish our look at the bestsellers at the Horror Mall. Listed here are the bestselling pre-ordered horror books and related items for April 2010.

Like other online bookstores, Horror Mall gives you a chance to purchase horror books or apparel before they’re available for shipment. Pre-ordering items, especially limited editions, gives you the chance to secure your copy before they’re all sold out.

Why is that important?

Because there are times an item on pre-order sells out completely. Limited editions are prone to doing this. Some publishers are only able to print runs of 100, 150, even 500 copies which can sell out long before they’re shipped. So the only time to snag your copy is in the pre-order stage.

From the back cover of book:
Something very strange is happening in LeHorn’s Hollow.

Eerie, piping music is being heard late at night, and mysterious fires have been spotted deep in the woods. Women are vanishing without a trace overnight, leaving behind husbands and families.

When up-and-coming novelist Adam Senft stumbles upon an unearthly scene, it plunges him and the entire town into an ancient nightmare. Folks say the woods in LeHorn’s Hollow are haunted, but what waits there is far worse than any ghost. It has been summoned . . . and now it demands to be satisfied.

About the movie:
Bram Stoker Award winning US horror author Brian Keene and British Fantasy Award winning writer Paul Finch are combing forces to bring Dark Hollow to the big screen.

The film is based on Keene’s novel, which was first published last year, that tells the story about a satyr that comes to life in a forest and begins capturing women.

Award winning short film director Paul Campion, who is also a former Weta Digital texture painter, will make this his directorial debut, with a script written by Paul Finch. And to add icing to the cake, Weta Workshop will design and and create the creature makeup.

Do you ever lie awake half the night because you felt something delicately, carefully crawling across your feet beneath the sheets?

Then this Creeptych of three bug-ridden stories is for you!

Bad Day: Paul Hughes had a really bad day. He lost his job, his wife and then after getting bit by a bug . . . his life. Compared to what happens to his neighbors after the Luna Roaches come to town, his day wasn’t so bad at all. At least he died. . . .

Eardrum Buzz: Wes couldn’t get enough of the music of Eardrum Buzz’s first disc, Misery Machine; the drone of their guitars was hypnotizing. But when he is brought into the band’s inner circle to join The Swarm, he soon has the music within him. Terrifyingly deep within him. . . .

Violet Lagoon: When a quartet of co-eds decide to reenact The Blue Lagoon on an abandoned Florida Key, they find more than just sex and sand is on the agenda. Stings turn out to play a part in their weekend as well. Lots and lots of stings. But those were just the beginning of the pain. . . .

Blockade Billy by Stephen King, an original, never-before-published novella that only the King of Horror could have dreamed up!

Even die-hard baseball fans don’t know the true story of William Blakely, but in just a few weeks you’ll be holding this dark tale in your own two hands so you can read it for yourself.

That’s right! This exclusive trade hardcover edition is already rolling at the printer and will be arriving at our warehouse in mid-April. This beautiful hardcover edition also features stunning cover artwork by Glen Orbik and eight gorgeous pieces of interior artwork by Alex McVey.

About the Book: Even the most die-hard baseball fans don’t know the true story of William “Blockade Billy” Blakely. He may have been the greatest player the game has ever seen, but today no one remembers his name. He was the first — and only — player to have his existence completely removed from the record books. Even his team is long forgotten, barely a footnote in the game’s history.

Every effort was made to erase any evidence that William Blakely played professional baseball, and with good reason. Blockade Billy had a secret darker than any pill or injection that might cause a scandal in sports today. His secret was much, much worse . . . and only Stephen King, the most gifted storyteller of our age, can reveal the truth to the world, once and for all.

This original, never-before-published novella represents Stephen King at his very best, and this hardcover edition brings it into print for the very first time.

Horror Mall Note: YES, we WILL have the extra baseball card with our copies!

What’s a header?

Fifteen years ago, Travis Clyde Tuckton asked that self-same question to his ancient grandfather, and the answer came in a rampage of twisted bloodlust, missing persons, and the most macabre and indescribable act of vengeance that human consciousness has ever devised . . .

Now, in those same desolate woods, amongst dilapidated shacks behind whose rickety doors no one dare look, something even worse has come to curse the land of simple folk, a jubilee of murderous perversity and sexual abomination too hideous to describe.

Only the courage of Travis Tuckton could ever begin to set things back to rights but, lo, Travis and his grandfather are long dead . . .

Ah, but their relatives aren’t!

And it will be these stout-hearted men who shall rise to the occasion of the most horrific revenge in the history of the backwoods — an eye for an eye, a head for a head! Not even unearthed graves, molested corpses, abducted tots, and an unspeakable human monstrosity can thwart the might of right.

Join steadfast hayseeds Helton, Dumar, and Micky-Mack as they venture forth into a wretched mire of unadulterated horror, where the symbol of ultimate evil is not a psycho-killer, nor a demon, but the full-tilt rev of power tools screaming through the endless night . . .

Header 2

Where revenge is all in the mind.
